Alkaline is divine. Acid is vapid.

Many foods are acidic. These should be avoided as our bodies naturally tend towards alkalinity. Its important to eat foods which promote and protect this balance. If you consume too many acidic foods you put yourself at risk of a raft of health problems.

Here are some foods which are alkaline:

  • Leafy green vegetables (such as spinach, kale and chard)
  • Lemons (yes, lemons are non-acidic: try adding lemons to your water)
  • Certain nuts and seeds (including almonds, hazelnuts and sesame seeds)
  • Broccoli
  • Dried figs
  • Raisins
  • Parsley
  • Basil

And some acidic foods that you should avoid:

  • Cheese
  • Cow’s milk
  • Meat
  • Fish

If you’d like to develop a new diet plan or just learn more about this, we recommend consulting a nutritionist or other suitably qualified expert.

Bon appetit!
